Hartmut Böhm
Hartmut Böhm (* 1938 in Kassel, † 26. Dezember 2021) was a German object artist.
His work is characterized by its thematic stringency, as well as by a rare logic of its development over more than four decades. Böhm's works always owe their existence to a clear systematic, based on mathematical and geometric principles, which can be traced by the viewer at any time. In doing so, the works achieve dynamic and sometimes confusing effects, which stand in a characteristic relationship of tension to the clarity of their structure.
Böhm has shown his work in numerous solo exhibitions in Germany and abroad since the early 1960s. He has also been involved in authoritative international group exhibitions on constructive and kinetic art, as well as on light art.
