Short Info
Franziska Reinbothe (*1980 in Berlin) experiments with the means of painting. Instead of using the canvas solely for the application of paint, she goes far beyond this. She cuts, folds, sews and perforates the canvas, breaks the stretcher frame and plays with different fabrics. Reinbothe is concerned with the process of finding the image itself, with exploration and the question: What actually happens when...? Reinbothe is represented in numerous collections, including the Collection of Contemporary Art of the Federal Republic of Germany, the collection of the Hamburger Kunsthalle, Staatliche Kunstsammlung Dresden and the Kunsthalle Bielefeld. www.franziska-reinbothe.de
