Inge Krause

Inge Krause's work, which spans over thirty years, is characterized by her curiosity about seeing. Krause thinks of the image as an imprint of layers of paint and deliberately creates blurred surfaces to enable a visual experience. The fact that she studied under Gotthard Graubner and Stanley Brouwn at the HfbK Hamburg - an unusual, even contradictory combination for many - becomes tangible in her work. Krause takes a strictly conceptual approach to her paintings and uses color as a characteristic quality of visual perception. Inge Krause, born in Boitzenburg in 1945, lives and works in Hamburg.
