THE HAND, THE FOOD, THE LUST
In her third solo exhibition at Galerie Mathias Güntner, Alexandra Ranner transfers her studio situation directly into the exhibition space. Her working process becomes visible, based on sketches, collages, drawings, text fragments etc., which usually provide the template for her larger room-in-room installations, video works, sculptures or photographs. Alexandra Ranner's works have been shown at the Venice Biennale (1999), Hamburger Kunsthalle (2012) and Georg Kolbe Museum, Berlin (2016), among others. She has been a professor of fine arts in the architecture program at the Berlin University of the Arts since 2007.
